When kids get sick, you get out of action too

I know I've not been blogging in a week. Shermaine caught the flu bug and I've been nursing her for the past few days. She's getting slightly better today. So, was able to sneak an post or two while she's sleeping.

Watching the little one groan and cry in agony in the night is kinda heart wrenching. Geez...

Live Music On A Weeknight

Can you believe it? We went out on a weeknight! My wonderful mom stayed with the kids while Bob and I got to see a live concert. It was so much fun!

You might remember that when I first heard the live band was touring I kind of went apeshit and immediately bought tickets. Bob was lukewarm on the idea, but I dragged him along anyway. (Who else was going to keep me from running up onto the stage?)

It was an amazing concert, and I got further confirmation that I married well because Bob didn’t mind that I danced the entire time and couldn’t wipe the goofy grin off my face. I defy anyone to not have a good time in the face of such happy music. I never expected to hear that live music since having my financial career and later the kids, so yay me!

My Favourite Time Of The Week

Last friday afternoon after I’ve picked up the girls from my mom's place after running a errand, put the younger girl to bed, popped some popcorn and turned on a movie (today it’s A Charlie Brown Christmas)… This is my favorite time during the week.

We’ve almost all made it home safely — Bob won’t be home for a few hours — we almost never have anything we have to do, the house is quiet, the kids are happy.

Life is good.

Mammi.... Da....

Shermaine is picking up some words and I love it the way she fumbles on on some of the pronunication. I love the way she calls me "mammi" and the way she calls Bob "da".

It's raw but it just melts your heart to hear those words. Ahh... my little girl.

Pancakes For You?

It's been almost 2 months since I've become a stay at home mum and there are times I wonder how I managed to keep sane with a five year old and a little baby. It certainly helps that my mom is staying across the street and when times are really tough, I'll call for help.

Sherry really loves pancakes and just about every other week, I'll make pancakes for dinner. But there’s one problem. I’m not much of a June Cleaver making pancakes on weekend mornings, so the other day when I offered her pancakes for breakfast, she freaked out.

Pancakes for breakfast??? You should have seen the looks she gave me. You would have thought I offered to make her steak.

I’ve clearly corrupted their brains more than I thought. I love being a stay at home mom!
